However, if a neutron is blocked by a heavy atom it can make that atom into an isotope which will then decay until it's stable. Normally heavy elements (like metals) don't block neutrons too well, lighter elements (like the constituents of water) do block them really well. Neutron radiation is a bit more complicated. It can not stick around, it's like light, it goes and can not just sit there.
If you're not in the way when it leaves the emission source it's not your problem. So, generally speaking once the Alpha, Beta, X-Ray, or Gamma radiation is emitted and left the area (at or near the speed of light) it's a non-issue. There's also Neutron radiation which I will discuss in more detail. X-Ray and Gamma radiation mostly which penetrate our bodies.

Going forward the only subreddit specific rule is that any content you submit must be something you consider relevant to /r/OSHA. So the community rules are changing to reflect that. Reddit has made it clear that users, not volunteer moderators are the true owners of subreddits.
